Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

Old world romance, contemporary comforts

Lavish and elegant, Riverside’s Mission Inn Hotel & Spa combines old-world romance with the splendor of Southern California’s citrus-growing era. From its modest start in 1876 as an adobe guesthouse, the Mission Inn grew into a veritable castle of turrets and ornate tile domes, archways, and lush garden courtyards; the architecture blends several styles, including Mission Revival, Spanish Gothic, Moorish, and Mediterranean elements. For more than a century, its grandeur has drawn glitterati and big names, from Hollywood royalty (Cary Grant and Barbra Streisand) to Albert Einstein and American presidents. In fact, Richard and Patricia Nixon were married at the inn and Ronald and Nancy Reagan honeymooned there.

What to Expect at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa offers the kind of amenities that make a stay here feel like a true getaway. At the onsite Kelly's Spa, guests can book a wide range of treatments, from massages to skincare therapies, or go for a swim in its luxurious outdoor heated pool. What sets the Mission Inn apart from other luxury resorts, though, is the transportive ambience, not only within its posh, dark-wood interiors, but also outside, amid beautifully landscaped courtyards and gardens. Guests can enjoy strolling through the grounds, which are filled with historic artifacts such as bells from missions across California, statues, and other ornate decorations.

Tours at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

Some of the most popular activities at the Mission Inn are its themed tours, which highlight the hotel’s history and architecture.
